Complete Gear Guide: What to Wear for Supermoto Track Days
Proper safety gear is non-negotiable on the track. Not only does it protect you in case of a fall, but the right equipment also improves comfort and performance. Here's everything you need to know about gearing up for your supermoto experience.
Helmet Requirements
A full-face helmet is mandatory. It must be in good condition with no visible damage or cracks. We recommend helmets that meet ECE 22.06 or Snell certification standards. Make sure the fit is snug but comfortable, as you'll be wearing it for extended periods.
Upper Body Protection
A leather or textile racing suit offers the best protection. One-piece suits are ideal, but quality two-piece suits that zip together are also acceptable. Look for CE-rated armor at the shoulders, elbows, and back. If you don't own a suit, rental options are available.
Gloves
Racing gloves with knuckle protection and palm sliders are essential. They should fit snugly without restricting movement. Avoid bulky adventure-style gloves, as they can interfere with precise control inputs.
Boots
Proper motorcycle boots that cover the ankle are required. Racing boots offer the best protection and feel for the controls. Regular work boots or trainers are not permitted on track.
Additional Recommendations
Consider wearing moisture-wicking base layers to stay comfortable throughout the day. A back protector adds extra peace of mind, and knee sliders are worth having even if you're not planning to drag knee just yet.
